NOTES FROM ELLERSLIE.

THIS MORNING'S WORK

RURI AND SCOTCH NATION SPRINT,

No. 2 gra6s track was available at Ellerslie this morning, and a number of horses were sprinted, but no particularly fast times were recorded. The going was heavy. ' Pahu worked over a round, which he completed in 1.57 4-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.28 1-5. He looks none the worse for his racing, and M. Nicol will again be his pilot in the Winter Steeplechase. Black Marlin did strong work, running his last half-mile in 58 2-os. Scotch Nation and Gay Egypt were timed to run five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. They were together at the end of the first two furlongs, which occupied 26 1-os, but Scotch Nation ran right away, and finished a dozen lengths in front. Rerepai was under restraint while running half a mile in 57 l-ss, and Lord Val, who was allotted serviceable work, took 59 2-5s for his last four furlongs. After commencing slowly from the seven-furlong post Monanui covered her last five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. She did it very easily, and is in first-rate condition for her engagement to-morrow. Adalene strode over six furlongs in 1.29 3-5. She was going easily throughout. King Musk did useful work, coming home over the last half-mile in 56 4-ss, the last three furlongs taking 41 4-ss. R. Marsh will ride this horse in the York Handicap to-morrow. Ruri ran home from the half-mile post in 51 4-ss. It was a useful effort, and he did it well. The sprinter Grand Sport has been taken back to Gisborne, and all going well he and Sporting Blood will be taken to Australia at an early date. Matorni was scratched for the Visitors' Handicap at 9.30 a.m. to-day. A SUCCESSFUL OWNER. H.H. AGA KHAN'S WINNINGS. LONDON, June 6.
