Fourth Round of Singles Championship. BOUSSUS DEFEATS HOPMAN. (Received 10 a.m.) PARIS, May 30. The remaining fourth round matches in the men's singles of the French lawn tennis championships resulted:—Crawford defeated Caska, G—3, 9 —7, 6—l; McGrath defeated Legcay, C —l, 4—-0, i (i —0, 7 —f>; Boussus defeated Hopman, ! 2—o, 5—7, 6—l, o—2, 0—0; Perry de- | feated Turnbull, 6—3, o—3,0 —3, o—3;0 —3; Ber- j nard defeated Stefani, G—3, 9—7, o—3;0 —3; I Austin defeated A. Merlin, o—o, o—l, j ft—4. j Perry beat Turnbull with a- good deal in reserve, and manoeuvred the Aus- | tralian out of position. Turnbull's \ ground strokes wilted under the strain of a severe attack. Hopman's clever lobbing worried Boussus. High-class tennis was seen in this match. Hopman relaxed in the third set, and after the interval, liis game went to pieces, whereas the confidence of Boussus increased. Crawford produced liis best driving to beat Caska. McGrath wore his opponent down by long driving and volleying duels. Austin displayed excellent form, defeating Merlin with the loss of only five games.
