SAILING MISHAPS.
REPORTS FROM SUVA.
POLISH YACHT LOSES MAST. SECOND CRAFT CuVPSIZES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, May 21. Last week two yachting mishaps took place. First of all the Polish yacht, Javo 11., which lias been cruising in tho Pacific, starting from Panama, when voyaging en route from Apia to Pago Pago, had her topmast carried away. She was then run to Apia for repairs. The Javo 11. has already had bad luck, for she arrived at Apia short of water and with her rudder damaged. She is owned by the author, Mr. Wlatlyslaw Wagner, who has written a book of hi* travels called "According to Sun and Stars," by which apparently navigation is carried out as neither sextant nor chronometer are carried by the yacht. The yacht is schooner rigged, 4Sft long, and 28 tons register, and has live sails. Besides the owner her crew consists ot ono hand. Tho second mishap occurred to the Suva yacht Dorade, which capsized owing to a severe squall, and her two occupants hung on iu rough water for some time until rescued by the yacht Shaledo, sailed l>y A. Lee. The craft was eventually towed to Nukulau Island.
