NORTHCOTE ANNUAL FUNCTION. Tho annual ■ dance of the Nortlicote t Pliiiikct Committee, hckl lust night in the King's Theatre, was very euccess- ' fnl, and was largely attended. Tlie pre- ' sident, Mrs. Archie Campbell, wearing a frock of black satin lame threaded with i gold, was assisted as hostess by the vicepresidents, Mrs. W. E. Carter, in Marina blue pebble crepe, and Mrs. A. W. . Christmas, in maize floral chiffon. The I Auckland branch of tho society was . represented by Mrs. J. C. Allan (president), in black Chantilly laco and fur • wrap; Mrs. W. H. Parkes (patron), in i midnight blue satin relieved with silver [ velvet coatee, with black fox fur; Mrs. i A. J. Beck, black beaded georgette • relieved with rose pink; and Mrs. Mer- , vyn Campbell, in cyclamen matelasse. Tho gathering included the honorary medical advisers, Dr. R. G. Dudding and Dr. K. H. Holdgate; the vicar of Northcote, the Rev. H. L. R. Islierwood; Mrs. M. S. James, in a frock of black velvet and white fur; Mrs. R. Martin, Mayoress of Northcote, Royal Stuart tartan; Mrs. G. Mills, Mayoress of Birkenhead, black satin and white embroidery; and Mrs. Isherwood, .Marina blue jubilee crepe. The committee comprised Mesdames J. W. Lethbridge (secretary and treasurer), W. P. Hay, A. E. Clark, E. A. Campbell, A. E. Stihvell, D. 11. Opperman, P. J. Hawke, L. G. Gimblett, M. S. Davis, W. P. Ward, R. E. Cadness, E. Barrington Snow, I. Morrison, J. Hollows, O. Honeycomlte, B. W. Pernor, P. C. Cross, R. G. Skeates, L. T. Hayman, J. Dickson, T. C. Winkelmann, Noel Campbell, G. E. Creagli, F. E. Cox, W. Williams, R. C. Morley, N. R. Stewart, J. H. Reicli, A. Sterling, J. L. Hanna, Misses Bettina Edwards, Myrtle Lcpper, arul Jean Stewart. The hall and supper tables were tastefully decorated. ' The dance music of Mr. W. Mayall's orchestra was supplemented by extras played by Mesdames D. H. Opperinan and E. Barrington Snow. The master of ceremonies was Mr. W. E. Carter. Enjoyable songs were given by Mrs. Donald Macdonald and Mr. Stan Evans, and exhibition dances of tango and rumba were given by Miss Margaret O'Connor and Mr. E. Priestlty. Supper was provided and served by the committee. It was announced that the proceeds from the "bring and buy" stall of the Birkenhead Women's Association towards the general fund of the Northcote Plunket Committee amounted to six guineas.
