CASE COLLAPSES.

FRAUD CHARGE FAILS. Two charges of false pretences against Arthur Bertram Taylor (Mr. Fraer) were heard at the Supreme Court this morning. It was alleged that Taylor in December last, with intent to defraud, obtained from Richard Corten £-10 by falsely, representing that he was the owner of 90 frocks, and that later in January he obtained £53 from William Mathews by falsely representing that he was the owner of 50 costumes.

The first witness having been heard, his Honor Mr. Justice Reed, after being informed that the other Crown evidence wits on similar lines, Intimated that it was not suflic : ent to secure a conviction. He directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty, which they accordingly did. The accused was discharged.
