JACK AND JACOBS WINNERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. A good house witnessed two 10-rouml professional boxing contests last night. W. .lack (Invercarglll), 10.U, l)eat L. Hood (Dnnedin), lO.li, on points, after a willing welter-weight bout. The middle-weight contest between K. Jacobs (Wellington). 11.6, and M. O'Urlen (I)unedin), 11.6, was characterised liy clean, hard hitting tliroughout. Jacobs won convincingly on points. The pair will light lit Invereargill shortly for the professional middle-weight championship of the Dominion.
SINGLETON KNOCKED OUT. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Cyril Pluto f 10.5). of West Australia, knocked out Bill Singleton (10.11), of New Zealand, in tho second round of a scheduled 15-round fight at the Sydney Stadium. Singleton was outclassed from the firet gong.
