AUCKLAND OWNER'S MISHAP,

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, Sunday. Damage to the extent of £20 was caused to a motor ear belonging to a visitor from Auckland, Mr. J. It. Overton, at a Wangamii garage yesterday, when petrol, which was being poured into the tank of the car, overflowed 011 to the hot exhaust pipe and caught alight. The rear of the car was enveloped in flames, and the garage attendant had a narrow cscape. Two tyres were burnt.
