A postal ballot is being taken to-day to fill the vacancy on the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council caused by the death of Mr. F. W. Stonex, a representative of the retail vendors. Three candidates have been nominated—Messrs. J. Haslam, W. H. Madill and C. -Mills. Voting papers must be in the hands of the returning officer by six o'clock this evening;.
