RESERVE BANK RETURN. DEPOSIT LEVEL FALLEN. BANKS' HOLDINGS LOWER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reserve Bank return for the week ended April 29 was gazetted to-night. The statement was balanced at £27,204,672, or £374,831 less than at the close of the previous week. The principal movements on the liabilities side are falls of £341,105 and £41,379 in the levels of bankers' deposits and State deposits respectively. The note issue has changed little, there having been an increase of £3011. One change In the assets slightly more than equals the fall in the two classes of deposits—a decrease of £390,064 in the level of the sterling exchange reserve.
