T.B. PATIENTS

REMOVAL TO HAWKE'S BAY

CASES FROM AUCKLAND.

Seventeen tuberculosis patients from the Auckland Hospital and Infirmary left for the Pukeroa Sanatorium, Hawke's Bay, this afternoon. They were seen off at the Auckland railway station by the chairman of the board, Mr. W. Wallace. Seven of the patients are men and ten women, i They are travelling in a special sleeping car which will, on arrival at Palmerston North, be sent through to Waipuknrau. Owing to crowding in the Auckland Hospital arrangements have been made to send up to 00 tuberculosis patients to Hawke's Bay, and there are already more than 40 there. Under the present arrangement the patients are still a charge on the Auckland Hospital Board, which intends at a later date to build a chest hospital to deal with all tuberculosis cases.
