ELLERSLIE TRIALS.
A QUIET MORNING. SEVEHAL HORSES SCHOOLED. Owing to some of the horses being cased after their recent racing there was very little doing at Ellerslie this morning. Xo. 3 grass track, on which the poles were 10ft out, was available, and the going was a bit on the heavy side. Kadnor was first out, and after running his first three furlongs in 40 4-ss, completed six furlongs in 1.22 3-5. This maiden has never raced, but is coming to hand well. Air Lassie was given useful work, striding over her last three furlongs in 44 l-se. She has never looked better, mid lias derived a lot of benefit from her spell. Teddy Boy and Solas ran home from the half-mile post in 535, the last three furlongs being covered in 40s. Teddy ]ioy afterwards repeated the performance, taking 50 l-ss. Cornerman, who had the better of the weights, finished in front of Xane Grey after traversing four furlongs in 52 3-ss. Cornerman worked better than usual. The Jumpers. Parkhtirst (Craddock) gave a safe display over the steeplechase fences on the flat. He trotted round on the tan, and repeated the performance without mistake. Black Marlin (Craddock) was sent over a couple of pony hurdles, his effort being promising for a novice. The Sun (E. C. Rae) and D'Artagnan (Sharkey) negotiated a couple of similar obstacles in a satisfactory manner. Arabesque (J. Burgess) led Cnited I Weir) over a couple of hurdles, the latter baulking at the second. Arabesque jumped the same fences again, alone, and gave an encouraging display. Gascelle (Craddock) jumped two hurdles satisfactorily.
