CROQUET CLUBS.
MOUNT EDEN. Beautiful weather prevailed on Tuesday when Mrs. W. G. Allen, president of the Mount Eden Croquet Club, Inc., entertained a large number of visitors and members. Progressive croquet was played, the successful competitors being: A, Mrs. H. Jones 1; consolation, Mrs. Percy; hidden number, Mrs. Webber; B, Mrs. Sherrilf 1; consolation, Mrs. Leyton; hidden number, Mrs. Scott. The pavilion was decorated with brilliant autumn flowers, and during the tea adjournment Mrs. Kudd, vicepresident of the club, presented Mrs. Allen, on behalf of the members, with a unique crystal electric reading lamp. Mrs. Allen in a short speech thanked the members for their gifts, and also congratulated Mesdames Harrop, Grey, and Watson, club members, wlio were successful during the recent Auckland tournament. Members of the Auckland Croquet Council present were: Mesdames Badeley (president), Keesing (secretary), Hamilton, and Keatley. Mrs. Badeley in a brief speech thanked Mis. AJlen for her hospitality and wished the club every success.

GREY LYNN CLUB. To close the 1934-35 season, the members of the Grey Lynn Croquet Club held a progressive day yesterday, when club members played in the morning, and in the afternoon visitors from other clubs, in addition to Mesdames Badeley and Keesing, president and secretary of the Auckland Croquet Association, were entertained. Mrs. W. Curtis; vicepresident, in the absence of Mrs) Moran. president, welcomed the visitors and later presented prizes to the following: A. Mrs. Archibald 1, Mrs. Wright 2; B. Mrs. Scott 1. Mrs. Laing 2. Hidden numbers, Mcsdames Keesing and Binn.e The club progressive resulted as follows: A. Mrs. Trewheela 1, Mrs. Rose 2; B. Miss Davis 1. Mrs. Person 2. Hidden numbers. Mesdames Robertson and Prince. Mrs. Badeley presented trophies to the following for the season's competitions: A champion, Mrs. Gelding; runner-up. Mrs. Rose. B champion. Mrs. Faulder; runner-up, Mrs. McDonald. B championship doubles. Mesdames Faulder and Buckley; run-ners-up, Moods mes Person and Shaw. Handicap doubles, Mesdames Holding and Faulder: runners-up, Mesdames Rose and Mnyson. Monthly progressive: A, Mrs. Robertson I. Mr*. (Jeldinnr 2; B. Mrs. Fauldor ]. Miss 2. Consolation: A, Miss Curtis; B, Mrs. Mayson.
PAPATOETOE CLUB.
At a social on Monday evening which marked the end of the summer season, the trophies of the Papatoetoo Croquet Club were presented to their respective winners. Mrs. K. Thompson, president, who made the presentations, remarked on the close and even competition in the club games, and also on the successful summer season which the club had just completed.
The winners were: Mrs. T. R. Smytheman, club championship; Mrs, R. Parker, "A" handicap singles; Mrs. 0. Foster and Mrs. W. Cut forth. "A" handicap doubles; Mrs. A. 0. Orinter. "B" handicap singles; Mrs. Grand field and Mrs. Unsworth, "B" handicap doubles.
