Large Country House Blown Up

And on Fire.

OWNER AND FAMILY ABSENT

(Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A large country house, one of the finest in Parkes, 2GB miles west of Sydney, was wrecked in the week-end by an explosion which scattered debris around the neighbourhood. Fire broke out immediately and swept through the building. Nearby houses were shaken and windows were broken. The owner. Mr. L. Mazoudier, and his family were away at the time. Detectives are unable* to determine the origin of the explosion.
