GENERAL ELECTION.

COALITION , UNITY. PREPARATION OF PLANS. tßy Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The departure of the Prime Minister (Mr. Forbes) for England in a few days' time and an expected early movement in the same direction by his colleague in the Coalition Government (Mr. Coates) has revived discussion on the party position in relation to the next election. This contest could not be delayed longer than the first week in December. Therefore the leaders, who have been given a free hand by their respective supporters to deal with the future organisation, are expected to make a definite arrangement at an early date. Under the circumstances it is regarded as a certainty that all sections of the Coalition will become merged to contest the general election as a Government party.
