DAIRY PRODUCE LEVIES.

MAXIMUM EXPORT RATES. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. An Order-in-Council was gazetted tonight fixing the maximum levies on dairy produce intended for export. The order stipulated that the amount of levies imposed by the New Zealand Dairy Board 011 dairy produce intended for export shall not exceed (a) in the case of butter, -|d a pound; (b) in the case of cheese, I-lfid a pound; (c) in the case of all dairy produce of a kind not otherwise specified and not containing an appreciable amount of butterfat, l-10d a pound; and (d) in the case of all dairy produce of a kind not otherwise specified, but containing an appreciable amount of butterfat, -|d a pound of butterfat contained in such produce. The- existing export levies are: — Butter, 3-oi4d a pound; cheese, 3 12Sd a pound. The levies are made for the purpose of providing revenue to carry out the work of the board.
