CLEARING PEA NETTING.
When taking down the wire netting on which sweet peas have grown, there are always a lot of tendrils and leaves that need handpicking to clear them off. Roll up the netting as for storing away, sprinkle some kerosene on it and set fire to it. This will completely cleanse and sterilise the wire. Too much kerosene should not be used, otherwise the heat will melt off the galvanising. If the netting after cleaning is allowed to lie out on a wet day. the rain will take all tho blackness away and leave it like new. Washed with water after firing and left in the sun to dry is just as good.
