BABY IN HOT WEATHER.
A spell of hot weather is very trying to a young baby. He feels the heat intensely and probably becomes fretful and restless. He uray eat and sleep badly. See that he is not overfed or overclo'thed. Keep him out of doors as much as possible, but not in the sunshine. Place him in his pram under shady trees or in the coolest, shadiest spot, when the day is hot and the sunshine glaring. A light piece of thin netting put over his pram will keep flies, wasps, and other insects away from him. Let him have as much cool, boiled'water to drink as he likes, and in hot weather baby appreciates his daily spoonful of orange juice morn than ever. Sponge his little hands and feet, arms and legs frequently in tepid water if he becomes hot and sticky, and dry them well afterwards. If you let him crawl about on the grass, be sure to see that he does not get off his rug, otherwise ants or other insects may trouble him. Don't handle him unnecessarily i» hot weather, and discourage well-mean-ing friends who wish to fondle him. Always it is a good plan to give baby o. warm bath before putting him to .bed. It will comfort and soothe him. After drving him carefully, sec that Ins skin is'well powdered and bo. sure to use an absolutely pure talcum powder.
