ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The final session of the seventh Dominion ''Y" conference was held on Saturday morning in Dnnedin, Mr. Cliff Deans presiding. The election of officers also took place, and resulted as follows: —President, Miss L. Armitt (Dunediu); vicepresidents, Miss E. Long (P<i|>atoetoe) and Mr. S. Guthie (In vereargill); secretary, Miss E. M. Appleby (Auckland); treasurer, Mr. K. Hieken (In v srcargill); superintendent, educational bureau, ■Miss G. Ryan (Christcliurcli); superintendents. international correspondence bureau, North Island —Miss E. Bramble (Pukehuia), South Island —Mr. Scarfe (Timaru). In the evening the oratorial contest for the silver shield was held in tlie Hanover Street Baptist hall. The subject of the speech was "The Menace of Alcohol in a Mechanical Age," and the judges were Mrs. Peryman and Miss Henderson. The shield was won by Mr. K. Cree, of Christchurch North.
