VALUABLE BABY.
LONDON'S CHIMPANZEE.
LONDON, February 28
The birth of the first chimpanzee in the London Zoo has created extraordinary interest, tlegrams of congratulation arriving at the zoo from all over Britain. The mother, "Booboo," was fed for two months on hothouse grapes, the sweetest of apples, and the best milk, which was treated with violet rays, and immunised against tuberculosis. The birth was attended by the best veterinary surgeons.
The daughter has been christened "Jubilee," and her nursery has been fitted with artificial sunlight, an air purifier, and glass screens against draughts.
