SHIPPING NEWS.

TURAKINA FROM LIVERPOOL. SIX BIG OVERSEAS VESSELS IN PORT. With six big overseas cargo vessels at the wharves, the port is experiencing one of the busiest days, this year, but it is only for a day, as three are due to sail shortly. The New Zealand Shippin- Company's eteamer Turakina arrfved from Liverpool at 11.45 a.m., berthing at the Queen's wharf shortly after. The Matakana arrived only five miles astern of her, and also berthed at the Queen's wharf. The Peebles is still discharging at the King's wharf. Hie Abel Tasman, which arrived at 3 a.m. from Sydney, is also discharging at this wharf." The Surrey is at the Central wharf, and the Cumberland at the Queen's. The Tamaroa is at the Prince's wharf, and all three are due to sail within the next 24 hours. The Monowai arrives from Wellington at 8 o'clock in the morning.

Abel Tasman arrived from Sydney at 3 o'clock this morning, berthing at the King's wharf. Captain Archibald, who hails from Hokianga, is in command. She sails to-morrow evening for Napier and Wellington. (N.S.S. Co.)

Turakina arrived from Liverpool at 11.33 this morning. She anchored at 11.45 for inspection, and berthed at the Queen's wharf at 12.30 p.m. to discharge. (N.Z.S. Co.)

Matakana arrived from Wellington at noon today, berthing at the Queen's wharf at i p.m. She completes her loading here and sails for. London on Monday afternoon. (L.D.N.)

Mariposa, of the Matson Line, will arrive from Sydney at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday and sail at 5 p.m. for San Francisco, via Suva, Pago Pago, Honolulu and Los Angeles. (11. and M.)
