Mr. J. Fletcher returned from the South this morning. Mr. and Mrs. George Anyon, of Wellington, are visiting Auckland. Mr. J. M. Elliffe returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. A. Jeffs has been appointed electrical ■ traction engineer to the Railway Department. Mr. R. G. Macmorran, chief drainage engineer at Auckland, has returned from Napier. Mr. G. E. Hutchinson, a member of the Broadcasting Board, returned by the Limited this morning from Wellington. Mr. A. I. Johns, general manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company, leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Major-General Sir William SinclairBurgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, leaves for Wellington by the Limited to-night. Mr. T. H. Easdown, manager of the Auckland branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, returned by the Limited this morning from a visit to Wellington. Mr. Murray A. Fastier, son of Mr. C. Fastier, of the Bank of New Zealand, Helensville, will leave Melbourne on March 2 for London, where he will advance his musical studies at the Royal College of Music. Mr. J. S. Neville, town clerk of Christchurch, leaves on March 21 on a trip abroad, during which he will represent the Christchurch City Council at the annual health conference at Bournemouth, England, in July. Mr. W. McK. Jeffrey, general manager and engineer of the Hume Pipe Company and of Hume Steel, Ltd., will leave at the end of March 011 a ten months' visit to Great Britain and the Continent. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Jeffrey. Mr. J. W. McEwen, foreign exchange operator of the Wellington branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has received notice of his promotion to chief clerk of the city division of the bank in Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. McEwen will leave for Sydney by the Wanganella on March 14.
