DOMESTIC THANKED.

HELPED TO CATCH THIEF. TWO MEN FOR SENTENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. As a sequel to an exciting chase in Fendalton on February 16, two men. Edwin Harold Ganther, 23, a labourer, and William Throp Townend, 35, a barman, pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning to a charge of breaking and entering the house of J. H. A. Moore, in Garden Road, and stealing goods. They were committed for sentence. A domestic servant told how she saw one man leaving the house, and how he ran and boarded a tram. She saw a motorist, who, when asked, chased the tram till the man got off. He had 'a suitcase which was her property. The magistrate thanked the witness for the help she had given in assisting the police to catch the man.
