With the permission of the Commonwealth Government, the CzcchoSlovakian author, Egon Kisch, will leave Australia almost immediately. It was announced at a meeting of a committee arranging a torchlight procession for the release of Kisch and Gerald Griffin, the New Zcalander, who was also considered to be an undesirable immigrant, and was imprisoned, that Kisch would be allowed to catch the boat for England on Thursday.
The Acting Attorney-Genera], Senator Brennan, stated that negotiations were proceeding between tho Commonwealth law authorities and Kisch's legal advisers by which the Commonwealth would consent to Kisch leaving Australia. At present Kisch is under sentence of three months' imprisonment for being an undesirable, prohibited immigrant. He has appealed successfully twice to the High Court and has two appeals pending. By the Commonwealth agreeing to his leaving these appeals will be dropped and the Commonwealth will not seek to have Kisch serve his sentence.
