CALVES AT WAIPU. RECORD NUMBER OFFERED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The. North Auckland Farmers' Cooperative, Ltd., held a stock sale at Waipu yesterday. The greatest number of cattle seen in these yards for some considerable time wee yarded, and included over 450 calves, the latter number being considered to be the biggest ever to be offered a_t Waipu. The attendance was large, and buyers wore present from Northern Wairoa, Maungaturolo, Pukejkohe, Pnpakura and Kaikohe. Competition was exceptionally keen, with values better than lato rates. Quotations: —Fat Jersey bullocks, 135/ to 140/; forward four-year-old steers, 110/ to 133/; three-year-old steers, 80/ to 01/; two-year-old steers, 71/ to 78/; best weaner Shorthorn steers, 40/ to 45/; medium weaner Shorthorn steers, 32/ to 30/; small and badly done, 20/ to 26/; heavy fat cows, 100/ to 106/; heavy fat Jersey cows, 60/ to 75/; medium Weight fat Shorthorn cows, 70/ to 81/; light fat cows. 52/ to 65/; prime fat heifers, 86/ to 97/; forward-condi-tioned cows, 18/ to 26/; two-year-old Jersey heifers, r.w.b., 42/ to 45/; weaner Jersey heifers, best, 40/ to 45/: medium quality weaner Jersey heifers, 30/ to 37/; inferior, IS/ to 26/; weaner pigs, 10/G to 14/.
