ARRESTED ON STEAMER.
INVERCAEGILL, this day. When the steamer Maheno arrived at Bluff from Melbourne, Norman Frederick Putt, married, aged 35, was arrested on a charge "that on November 14, at Melbourne, bein;r the bailee of a motor car valued at £280, he did fraudulently convert it to his own use." Pending the arrival of an escort, he was remanded for a week. Bail was fixed at £100. -
