WEDDING.
MILLER—KEMP. The Baptist Tabernacle on Saturday afternoon was the setting for an interesting wedding, when Miss Mary Christian Kemp, only daughter of Mrs. Kemp and the late llev. Joseph W. Kemp, Taylor's Koad, Mount Aiuert, was married to Mr. John Paton Miller, only son of Mrs. E. D. Aubin and the late Mr. J. P. Miller. Dr. Alexander Hodge performed the ceremony and Mr. A. E. VVilson presided at the organ. Mrs. L. Clark and Miss Boss were responsible for the beautifully decorated church, pink, white and light foliage being the colour scheme. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. J. L>. Keiup, and wore an elegant frock of magnolia diagonal striped satin, cut on medieval lines, with long sleeves slightly putted at the elbows, and a vanclyked neckline. A long oval-shaped train was arranged from the hips. The long veil of Brussels net formed a cap and was held in place by small bunches of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of cream cactus dahlias.
The bridesmaids, Misses Barbara Hargreaves and Amy Carter (Wellington), wore frocks of apricot pink and cream patterned georgette over apricot satin, the skirts having slight trains. Knotted sashes of wide apricot velvet ribbon swathed the waist lines; velvet ribbon trimmed the cream ballibuntal picture hats, and they carried bouquets of pink dahlias.
The little flower girls were Jeanette Williams and Ndreen Lam bourne and Olwyn Kemp, niece of the bride. They wore pink organdie frocks with long skirts frilled at' the hem and short pull' sleeves, and carried baskets of mixed summer flowers. Wreaths of flowers were round their heads.
Mr. Arthur Davidson was tho best man, and Mr. Gibson Winson was the groomsman.
After the service a reception was held in the Sunday school room, the decorations of the hall being arranged by Mrs. S. Barry. Mrs. Kemp received the guests in a gown of black georgette with lace yoke over pastel pink ninon. Her black hat was trimmed with a bunch of ospreys, and she carried a pink bouquet.
Mrs. Aubin, the bridegroom's mother, wore a grey and navy ensemble, and a grey velvet hat.
Mrs. John Kemp was in cigar brown marocain and biscuit toned hat swathed with brown ribbon. On the table at the reception was a beautiful threetiered wedding cake, made and presented by Mr. S. Page.
In memory of the bride's father, the | late Rev. Joseph W. Kemp, who was I for many years principal of the Bible Training Institute, and minister of the Baptist Tabernacle, a finely-equipped caravan was purchased by members and friends of the institute and the Tabernacle congregation. The caravan has been loaned to the bride and bridegroom in which to travel through New Zealand on an evangelical mission.
