LOYALTY TO FLAG.
PEOPLES OF COOK ISLANDS.
LORD BLEDISLOE PRAISED. (By Telegraph.—rross Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. An address expressing deep regret at the departure of the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe. has been presented to their Excellencies oil behalf of the European and Maori peoples of the Cook Islands by the Resi» dent Commissioner at Rarotonga, Judge 11. F. Ayson. The address is signed by members of the Island Council at Rarotonga oil behalf of the people of the Cook Islands: In the course of the address the natives say: "The kindly interest which your Excellcncies have always shown in the welfare of the people of the Cook Islands and in the welfare of all Maori people has been most sincerely appreciated and will long remain a happy memory to us. May we ask your Excellency to again convey to His Majesty the assurance of the continued unswerving loyalty and devotion of the people of Cook Islands to the flag and the Throne."
