GERMAN NOBLEWOMAN.
HOLDER OF ANCIENT TITLE.
Daughter of the late Baron von Ompteda, the noted author of many military works, Baroness Carols, von Ompteda arrived by the Franeonia this morning in the course of a world cruise. Young Titian-haired, and wealthy, she is an international society figure. Her title was created in the 11th pentury, and is one of the oldest in the German aristocracy. The Baroness was reticent about discussing European affairs, but said that the opinion was generally held by Germans that Herr Hitler had saved the country by his statesmanship. The return of the Saar to Germany was a sign of his success and was one of the factors in restoring the national pride of the German race.
Tlie Baroness is busy writing lior autobiography. She was appreciative of the service and comforts on board the Franeonia, and said that she hoped to come back and pay a more comprehensive visit to this Dominion next year.
