CYCLE THIEF GAOLED.
John Alexander Morris, aged 25, labourer, was charged, in the Police Court to-tlav with theft of a cycle valued at £10 at Birkenhead on December 20 and also with a breach of his probation. He pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said Morris stole the cycle from Birkenhead and later sold it to a dealer in Auckland for £1 10/. He afterwards disappeared from Auckland and was only arrested on February 20 in a relief camp near Te Kuiti.
"You have been admitted to probation on three occasions for three separate thefts, so yon have been given every chance," said Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., in sending Morris to prison for three months.
