Thrilling Incident in Rescue Display. 'PLANE TURNS OVER IN WATER. SYDNEY, February 10. While two occupants of a beach patrol aeroplane were demonstrating surf life-saving with the aid of the machine to-day one of them had a narrow escape from drowning at Cronulla. The men's duty was to fly over a malo bather who was in imaginary difficulties 300 yards from the shore and to drop an inflated rubber buoy. However, the aeroplane descended so low that one wing struck a breaker and the machine turned over in the water. One of the occupants was soon rescued by the crew of a surf boat. The other, Mr. M. McWilliain, was trapped in the cockpit and many minutes elapsed beforo the life-savers extricated him. Ho was suffering from immersion and shock. The aeroplane, considerably damaged, was towed ashore.
