MUSSOLINI GIVES WAY.

JAPAN'S 1940 OLYMPIAD. (Received 9.30 a.m.) HOME, February 10. The Prime Minister of Jtaly, Signor Mussolini, has-" waived Italy's claim to the Olympiad in 1940 in favour of Japan. Count Soyejima came specially from Tokyo to plead with Signor Mussolini, and promised to support Italy s claim to the Olympiad in 1944. He says Britain, Germany, Italy and Austria will now support Japan at the meeting of the Olympic Committee to be held at Oslo on February 25.
