WOMAN ENEMY NO. 1.
U.S. GANGSTER'S WIDOW. HER PART IN* A GUN FIGHT. The widow of the gangster, "Baby-Face" Nelson, has been captured by the Federal police in Chicago. Following the discovery of her Irasband's body in a ditch, after a gun battle in which two Federal agents were killed, Mrs. Nelson became Public Enemy No. 1. It is stated that she was captured a few hours after her husband's body was found and after she had escaped with John Hamilton, a companion of "Baby--I'ac e' and former member of the DiJhnger gang. She has. according to the newspapers, been relentlessly "grilled" by the police in the hope that she will give a clue to Hamilton s whereabouts.
rile Department of Justice is considering charging Mrs. Nelson with complicity m murder. This indicates that she has been definitely identified as Nelson's companion during the battle in which two Federal agents were killed.
