TE AROHA HORSES.

VAL WATCH'S PROGRESS. KING BRIERLY IMPROVED. King Win is Still-on the easy list, consequent upon a knock on the hock* received during his recent visit to Eilerslie. He may rejoin the track workers any day now, in view of taking part at the local meeting next month. Since his return from Eilerslie King Brierly has furnished materially and now bears a more robust appearance. He has been worked on the local track this week, but was not required to do any fast work. His next public appearance may be at the Rotorua meeting.

Following his racing at Thames, where lie started three times, King. Mestor has been going on the right way. At Parawai he was not suited by the hard track, but should run prominently if raced ona course with the sting out of it.

Don't Lap appears to be right at the top of his form just now, and although ridden out in botli his winning races at Parawai ho is none the worse for his efforts. He is expected to compete" in the Matamata Hack Cup next week.

Tin Lap, who has only been recommissioned a few weeks, is sprinting well just now. Although she races well on a firm crack, she is liable to go sore if there is any sting in the going, so in the meantime is only being allotted short distances. Val Watch is getting through her share of track work, but is thriving on it, and .as thickened out considerably. A hind •tlock joint bears evidence of having come i contact with timber, but she moves undly in her work. The Valkyrian mare lould be ready ta compete at the Te .•oha meeting. Gay Rose is now in the pink of condition, and provided slie has the services of .i good horseman in her next start should show her galloping ability. Judging by her track work the Gay Shield mare is likely to get a middle distance before long, as she would be able to get her balance in the early stages. Keith Lu, woh has been slow in coming to hand this season, is now showing signs of brightening up, and from • now on is likely to improve. He has developed into a good tyre, and with ordinary luck should make good* during the autumn.
