GROWTH OF FORESTS.

TREES' HEALTHY CONDITION

During the Christmas holidays a number of visitors to Auckland made an opportunity to visit the pine forests established and maintained by N.Z. Perpetual Forests at Putaruru, Taupo and contiguous districts. Amongst the visitors were Mr. Gr. C. Keyser. formerly a member of the West Australian Parliament, who is a resident, of Pingaira, near Perth, and who had been asked to inspect the forests on behalf of a number of West Australian bondholders. Mr. Keyser has, since iiis return to Australia, written to the secretary of X.Z. Perpetual Forests stating inter alia: — "The forests are excellent in growth, healthy in appcaranec, altogether devoid of dead trees or even retarded growth. Mile after mile the journey through the forests impresses the mind as 110 written description could convey. "Personal inspection has convinced me that all and innr<> nromi~ed by the comwill be fulfilled to the bondholders."'
