TREMAYNE WINS CHIEF EVENT.
SYDNEY, January 13. The New Zealand-bred colt Saecula, by Posterity from Veil, who. was purchased at the. yearling sales at Trentham last January by Mr. E. Moss-for 500gs,'was successful ia the Nursery Handicap at ihe Canterbury Park races yesterday. It was his first start ami he'won convincingly. Saecula is trained by (i. Price. Sir Walter, who was third, is also Now Zea-land-bred, being by Grand Knight from Prophet's Mark. Ho cost 375gs at the Trentham yearling sales and in his two previous starts had run third on each occasion. Tremayne equalled the course record of 2.21& for a mile and three' furlongs, in winning the Canterbury Handicap, and Cynical also equalled the course record of 1.54 for nine furlongs in taking the Campsie Handicap.
