STILL HOLDING OFF.

NO RAIN IN WAIKATO. (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Dark, low-lying clouds and a change in the wind last evening caused the hopes of the Waikato farmers to rise, but only two light showers fell, and the barometer, which fell suddenly, quickly rose again. To-day dawned clear, without sign of rain. The position created by the drought is at serious as e\er, and prospects of a further increase in production to offset low prices for dairy produce are far from bright.. The weather is hot in Hamilton. The highest temperature reached this year is 92 degrees in the shade. This has occurred on four occasions, the last of which was Sunday. Twice more it has been over 90 degrees, while the average for the month is S8 degrees.
