OTOROHANGA WEDDING.
PILKINGTONr-QUINLAN.
A very popular wedding took place recently at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacret Heart, Otorohanga, the contracting parties being Kichard Edwin I'ilkiiigton, .son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pilkington, of Hamilton, and ]<;dith Margaret Quinlan, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Quinlan, of Otorohanga. In the absence of Archbishop O'Shea, who was detained in Wellington through the serious condition of Archbishop Redwood, ■the Kov. Father Dore, assisted by the Rev. Father Bleakley, of Hamilton, performed the wedding ceremony. MN* J. McGettigan played the "Wedding March," and Mrs. U'C'onnell, of the Waitomo Hostel, sang two solos. An unusual note was struck by the bride in wearing her mother's wedding dress of beautiful ivory Limerick lace, the net veil being held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of lilies, and was attended by her sisters. Misses Betty and Lilian Quinlan, as bridesmaids, wearing frocks of flowered georgette, in primrose and pale green respectively, their bouquets being sheaves of gladioli to tone. The frock of tho bride's mother was of Burgundy pebble silk, her bouquet being carnations, while tho bridegroom's mother wore navy bluo marocain, and carried a poey of sweet peas. The best man was Mr. R. G. Varley Hudson, and the groomsman Mr. J. C. Quinlan, jun. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride's parents, -where a large marquee erected in the grounds accommodated about 120 guests.
