MAORI TRIBUTE.
ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD. A PRESENTATION ADDRESS. (Bj Telegraph. — Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, tins clay. The following is the picturesque address to be presented to Cardinal Maeßory at tin: Obinemutu Pa this evening, in the Tauretaknpua meeting house: — "Awake! Arise ye! From beneath tin , sod come forth! Ye spirits of my fathers, your voices raise! Your war song enchant in unison and concord! Uplift ye the cry of welcome, for the distinguished and illustrious graces your courtyard to-day. "Eminent Sir, we, their pYogeny, reecho that cry of welcome, a welcome to our beautiful land. In numbers we, as a race, are the smallest on earth. In loyalty, however, we give place to none. Coming as you do as an ambassador of our Holy Father, we, his children, irrespective of creed or persuasion, tender you our assurances of devotion and allegiance. Bring here to us his blessing and message, and take back with you our greetings. "Your visit synchronises with the passing of Archbishop Redwood. With you, his Church, his see and his charge, we mourn hiis los,?. Rich in years which the' fulness of time has blessed, richer still in enjoyment of right, privilege and honour of serving, he passes. Richest, full of love, affection and the esteem of his follow men, he rests ill that peace which the world cannot give, honoured as a shepherd, loved as a prelnte, and admired n* a Christian gentleman." The address was signed by Kepa H. E'hau, for the children from other denominations.
