FOUR REMANDS.
BIGAMY AND THfeFT CHARGES.
BOOKMAKIXG ALLEGED,
Four men separately charged with bigamy, bookmaking, a motor car theft, and theft from a dwelling were remanded by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court this morning.
Mati Ilicli, a labourer, aged 44, was charged that, having on February 24, 191!), married Matija Ilic at the Roman Catholic Church at Dusina, Yugoslavia, he went through a form of marriage with another woman at St. Francis' Anglican Church, Auckland.
Accused, for whom Mr. K. C. Aekins appeared, was remanded until January 10. Bail of £200 was allowed.
Douglas Hipkins, a tobacconist, aged 40, charged with using premises a't 11, Commerce Street as a common gaining house, was remanded on the application of Mr. A. Wilson until January 15. of £100 was renewed.
John'Simmons, a seaman, aged 20, was charged with the theft of a motor car valued at £80, the property of John Stewart Dickinson. On the application of Senior Detective S. G. Hall he was remanded until January 10.
Joseph .Marino, a labourer, aged 37, charged with stealing from the house of Jane Mitchell, a suitcase and clothing valued at £9 12/, the property of William Henry Cole and others, was remanded to January 14.
