SWIMMING.

WAITEMATA CLUB. The Waltemata Amateur Swimming and Life-Having Club will conduct the first carnival of this season at the Tepid Baths next Tuesday evening The chief event will lie the 200 yds relay race fov the Foss Memorial Cup, at present held by Waitemata. Among Its opponents will be teams representing the North Shore, Ponsonby and Gramnrar Clubs, so that the race is expected to be excitingly contested. The supporting handicap events Include 60> 2-3 yds and 220 yds open handicaps, as well as a 06 2-3 yds ladies' handicap, and in these Auckland's speediest swimmer will be competing. The water polo match will bo between Ponsonby and Parnell, the tirst game this season in the Auckland Water Polo Control Board's senior grade.
