APPOINTMENTS TO BE MADE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A shortage of justices of the peace in certain districts has , been reported. As a result," inconvenience has sometimes been caused in the completion of documents required to be attested before, a justice of the peace. On the complaint being- mentioned yesterday to the. Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, it was ascertained that a list of nominations for some new appointments was being prepared to replace justices who had died or had removed from districts, where there were now eitherho persons holding office, or only one or two who were not always accessible. The Minister hoped that the proposed appointments would be ready to submit to his Excellency; toward the end, of the month or the beginning of January.
