GIANT LINER'S SPEED.
AVERAGE OF 32J KNOTS.

When the giant Cunard liner Queen Mary is completed she will have a margin of four knots over the fastest transatlantic liner now in service. The Queen Mary is scheduled to cover the distance between New York in 90 hours, and to maintain an average speed of 32J knots. The fastest Atlantic crossing recorded is that of the Italian liner Rex, which crossed from Gibraltar to New York in 1933 at an average speed of 28.92 knots.
