STATEMENT DOUBTED.
SIR MAURICE HANKEY'S VISIT,
LONDON, November 14
The "Daily Herald" Parliamentary reporter describes Mr. Mac Donald's remarks that there was no political object for the visit of Sir Maurice Hankey to the Dominions, as an understatement, and says Sir Maurice's tour definitely is not merely personal. He is to discuss naval and military questions with each Dominion Government. His reported object is to induce them to increase their armaments and forces and to elaborate a plan for Imperial war co-operation. The question is asked in the lobby why this "hush hush" and this pretence that the tour is purely private.*
