NOTES FROM TAKANINI.

GAY BLONDE GOES FAST

The inside grass track, with, the poles 20ft out, was used for galloping at Takanini this morning, and the going was excellent.

High Crest (Clifford) and Lap Up (Howard) were together at the end of half a mile in 50s. Lap Up got the best of the start, and his time was 51 Tss. King Brierly (Jones) and Nun, Nicer (Fearn) were on terms after running five furlongs in 1.4 2-5, the first two in 255, and the last half mile in 51 l-ss. United (Clifford) covered seven furlongs in 1.35, after running the first half mile in 51s. Gay Blonde (Tilsley) and Tray Bit (Tinker), got to the end of four furlongs in 50s. Gay Blonde got the worst of the start, but was slightly in front at the finish. Fei-Mah (Jones) and Flood Tide (Fearn), were given an easy five furlongs, averaging about 15s. Ballymoney (Glyrfn) with Rimu Rose (Walters) to assist over the first furlong, which was run in 12 4-ss, covered five furlongs in 1.6. Memnon (Tinker) and Safari (Hart) traversed half a mile in 51s, both working well. Gay Sheik , (Doig) sprinted up the straight. Matorni (Jones) and Lord Willonyx (Clifford) ran six furlongs in 1.18, the first three taking 38 2-ss. 'Lord Willonyx was allowed a couple of lengths' start and was a length to the good at the end. Spearcourt (Tinker), with Gar Vaals (Eastlake) to assist over the first two furlongs and High Tea (Hart) to bring , him home over the last three, ran five furlongs in 1.3 4-5. He was ridden right out, the first two taking 25s and the last three 38 4-ss.

_Others to do useful work on the inside dirt track were Lifeguard, Enlightenment, Kilonsoa, Arch Ruler, Havering, and Alignment.

C Morse is as yet undecided whether be will make the trip with Arch Ruler.
