FLAT-DWELLERS' WINE.
MENACE OF THE COCKTAIL. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, November 11. The head of one of London's most famous wine firms, on the occasion of celebrating the firm's haljf century of trading, lamented the changes in drinking habits. He added: "The cocktail is an abomination medically, socially, scientifically and aesthetically, but it will soon be a thing of the past. Sherry is replacing it." The biggest change in the wine trade, he said, had arisen from the construction of huge blocks of flats. His firm was storing thousands of bottles of wine for flat-dwellers, who had nowhere to put it. It should not be beyond the architect's skill to provide nome wine storage facilities in flats, he added.
