BRITISHERS IN SOUTH. MISS ROUND IMPRESSES. ANGAS TAKES SET FROM PERRY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Approximately 2000 people assembled at Wilding Park to-day to see the visiting British lawn tennis team engage in matches against one another and with leading Canterbury players. A large proportion of the gallery came mainly to see Miss D. E. Round, for F. J. Perry has already pliyed in Christchurch. They witnessed scae sparkling tennie. None could have been disappointed in Miss Round, for she played tennis of a standard that has never before produced by a woman player in the South Island. Results:— F. J. Perry (Britain) beat C. Angas (Canterbury), 7—9, 6—l, 6—o. G. P. Hughes (Britain) beat T. Rhodes Williams (Canterbury), 6—3. Miss D. E. Round (Britain) beat Miss N. M. Lyle (Britain), 4—6, 6—4, 6—2. F. J. Perry and H. A. Barnett (Canterbury) beat G. P. Hughes and H. Dyrnond (Canterbury), 6—l, I—6, 6^2. Miss E. M. Dearman (Britain) and G. P. Hughes beat Miss D. E. Round and T. Rhodes Williams, 6—3, 10—8.
