GERMAN CLUB.
Many members and friends of the German Club, Auckland, met on Thursday for an entertainment evening in the clubrooms. After the singing of the British ■and the German National Anthems and several German folk songs, Mr. H. Binstcd, F.R.G.S., delivered an interesting lecture on the Cook Islands. Misses M. Jagiisch and J. Smith then gave a piano duet. Mrs. J. Hemingway, and after her, Mr. V. C'ooke, sang a number of songs, and humorous recitations were given by Mrs. A. Purdie. Mr. J. Ilenniger presented to the club large pictures of the l.'ite and of the present presidents of Germany. Supper and dancing concluded the evening.
