TOURNEY AT MIDDLEMORE

Good Scoring This Morning — Savage's Round of 71.

The Labour Day week-end golf tournament at Middlemore was continued this morning under ideal conditions. The Hislop Cup, a medal competition over 30 holes, was played and the Middlemore Cup and the group contest, both handicap match play, were continued. There was some good scoring. T. E. Clark, the first player to return a card, doing a round of 75. He was followed by H. Plunvley with 73, but later P. Savage took tho lead with a 71, two strokes better than tho scratch score of the course. The following were the best cards returned in the Hislop Cup: —P. C. Savage 71, H. Plumley 73, W. A.
