POSITION DEFINED.

MR. JONES IN LONDON. CABINET'S CONFIDENCE. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The position of Mr. David Jones, chairman of the Meat Producers' Board, at the forthcoming conference 011 meat quota problems in London, was delined by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Coates, in the House this afternoon.

The Minister said that Mr. .Tones was fully accredited in his capacity of chairman of the Meat Producers' Board, and he would be directly associated with the High Commissioner in London in the important discussions to take place. Any suggestion, arising from the recent cable report from Canada or otherwise, that Mr. Jones lacked status or credentials was incorrect. With his unique knowledge of events from the inception of the Ottawa agreement and since, Mr. Jones possessed the confidence of the Meat Board and of the Government in the part lie was to take.
