FALCON CUP FINAL. BENEFIT MATCH FREE LIST. Claiming that one of tli6 Thistle players in the team which defeated North Shore in the Falcon Cup final on Saturday was not registered according to the rules, the North Shore Club sent a protest against the legality of the defeat to last night's meeting of the Auckland Football Association control board. It was decided that the letter was a protest, not merely an intimation, but as no fe£ was sent with the protest, as required by the rules, it was out of order. The question of the late registration of players relative to this matter is to be referred to the clubs. It "was decided that the free list would bo suspended in the Grant benefit match to be played at Blandford Park between Thistle and Tramways, as Tramways had' taken the initiative in proposing the match and had agreed to control the arrangements. As permission for the match had been given on this understanding, it was felt that the usual free list could not be available.
The Huntly Starr Club deplored the absence of the Eastern Suburbs and Chinese teams, which were to have visited Huntly last Saturday. It asked the board to advise if the two Y.M.C.A. teams would be completing their arrangements for their intended visit to Huntly on Saturday next. The secretary advised the board that Y.M.C.A. had intimated that they would he making the trip. The letter was referred to Y.M.C.A. to confirm the date with the Huntly Starr Club. It was decided to suspend the free list at Blandford Park on Saturday, Charity Day.
